Bio
Zijie Zou (b.2001, China; now based in Providence, RI & Shenzhen, China) is an interdisciplinary artist working across installation,
digital media, and spatial practices. His work explores moments when emotional and psychological experiences resist clear representation,
focusing on subtle internal states and overlooked social dynamics. Through experimentation with materials, systems, and emerging technologies,
he investigates how space, scale, and perception shape the relationship between inner experience and shared environments.
Zijie received his BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art (2023) and is an MFA candidate in Digital + Media at the Rhode Island School of Design(2027).
He has exhibited widely in the United States (Baltimore, MD, and Providence, RI) and China (Guangzhou and Shenzhen).
His MFA thesis exhibition will debut in the spring of 2027.
