The work is a memorial to the burning house incident in Urumqi on November 24, 2022. The flickering light mimics the rhythm of a person's heartbeat and breathing under the strain of high temperatures in confinement. Observers hear event details at a distance, but as they approach, light and sound distort, symbolizing the obscured truth. This contrast between surface-level information and hidden realities suggests that sometimes, distancing ourselves and fostering independent thought can provide a clearer perspective on such events.
